I got a call saying I am going to be served also for a debt that is almost 6 years old. It just barely falls within the statute of limitations for New York. But alleluia we have proof we paid the debt off! Every time I call them to tell them about the proof they hang up.

Confusing call stating that someone with my last name but with a different first name, needs to call this number or "proceedings" will continue. They were apparently threatening some kind of litigation but couldn't even get my first name right.

THIS IS A SCAM. I received a call for a "serve them" company, stating I was going to be served for a debt. I was given the phone number to call. Really? When processor serve you, they want to catch you by surprise, not call you in advance to ensure you are home. I just spoke with "Mr. Swafford" with "Ken Wood and Associates" about a debt that is past the statute of limitations and legally uncollectible. I was informed that he was going to serve me or serve me at my employer. The statue of limitations is moot, as he claimed a new law passed in 2014, the "1099 - C law" demands that old credit card debt can be collected on. This is false, this law relates to paying taxes on old debt. I called back to tell him this, but he hung up on me after telling me he was going to do what he had to do. I received a call from an unknown number. They said they wanted to deliver papers to me to appear in court. I asked what for. She gave this phone number with a reference number to call for that information. I called. A man said they had a civil complaint against me for HSBC bank. I told him that account had a bankruptcy filed against it almost 3 years ago and hung up on him. Now he is calling relentlessly every few minutes and the number comes up unknown so I cannot block it. I used a co-worker phone when I made the call so it is her phone they are using to try to harass me. What can be done. The man's name was Michael Benjamin.
