Just got the same voicemail that Nikki received. Was a bit alarmed at first but quickly realized that if there was a legit case of fraudulent activity involving me, the message would have been from a person. I decided to jump on here and now, thanks to your entries, am confident that it's a bunch of douche bags. Thanks guys :)

This number just tried to call me while I was at work. The message sounded like an old 90s style robocall. This was the message. “ the reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that there's a legal enforcement action filed on your social security number for fraudulent activity so before this matter goes to the state ___________ and before you get arrested if you need any information or have any question kindly call us back at 618-688-0223 thank you…” I called the police myself because I have nothing to hide. They said there was nothing in their system. I definitely wasn’t about to get arrest for fraud but I did give them this number so they can investigate it more thoroughly. In the meantime, DO NOT ANSWER. The cop said that sometimes all they want is for you to pick up so they can make long distance overseas calls that will be charged to you.

The lady on the phone said they were from Samtel, calling on behalf of TD Credit card, and that I would have one month free credit report, etc. They had my postal code & name They wanted to know my Date of birth. At this point, I got suspicious and refused to share that info over the phone. She started trying to convince me.... which sounded like a hard sell. I hung up. Scammers.

The lady on the phone said they were from Samtel, calling on behalf of TD Bank, and that I would have one month free credit report, etc. She sounded desperate, and was more in a hurry to enroll me on their scheme. I hung up.
