While working, I received a call from +1(888) 251-7868. I normally do not answer these calls and then just block them so they do not bother me anymore, but with this call I also received a voicemail. The voicemail said: The reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that we just suspend your social security number because we found some suspicious activity so if you want to know about this case just press 1, thank you.
So of course, I was furious because I realized these idiots are trying to get me to give them my information. So I hit redial and they said please hold for the next available agent. I held for a couple of minutes, then as I suspected, a man with a foreign accent answered and said his name was Mike and how could he help me.
I told him that I was returning their call and would like to know how I could help them and why are they calling me. He said he didn't know what I was talking about and that I needed to call this other number and they can help me. The # he gave me was 800-373.3411. I hung up and called the number. If they number looks familiar to you, it's because its the 800 information directory for 411. Now I really wish I would have picked up the phone the first time to see what lies they would use to scam me.
I hope no one falls for this horrible people.
